Se cree que ayuda a aliviar dolores menstruales, a limpiar el hígado y los riñones, y a proteger contra el mal de ojo y las energías negativas. En muchos hogares, se cuelgan ramilletes de ruda en las puertas para mantener alejadas las malas influencias.
